The Ibn Uthman Mosque stood in the Turukman Quarter of the Shuja'iyya district, in the southeast of Gaza City. It displayed the architectural and decorative elements of Mamluk building and is described as the second-largest historic mosque in the Gaza Strip after the Great Omari Mosque. Its total area was about 2,000 square meters, including a main courtyard of around 400 square meters. Noted for its architectural patterns, it was regarded as second only to the Great Mosque of Gaza in beauty and standing as a Friday mosque. The large Shuja'iyya Market lies opposite, and the mosque sits below street level.
