The Great Mosque of Tangier is the historic main mosque, or Friday mosque, of Tangier in northern Morocco, and it stands in the city's old medina. It lies in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region, in the area of Avenue Abou El Kacem Chrif Sebti. The design of the present building goes back to the early 19th century, during the Alaouite period. The mosque is listed as Moroccan cultural heritage. Our records state that it is named after Tariq ibn Ziyad.
