The Great Mosque of Agadez is a Friday mosque in the city of Agadez, the capital of Niger's Agadez region. It is built of mud and belongs to the Sudano-Sahelian architectural tradition. Its most distinctive feature is the unusual minaret, which rises more than 27 metres above the desert town and serves as a prominent landmark. The mosque is regarded as one of the emblems of Niger and forms part of a World Heritage Site.
