The Fatih Mosque stands in the historic centre of Durrës, Albania, next to the fortress walls dating from the Venetian period. Built in the Ottoman architectural tradition, it is named after Sultan Mehmed II, known as Mehmed the Conqueror (al-Fatih). Locally it is also called the Old Mosque or the Small Mosque, names that distinguish it from the Great Mosque built in the 1930s. It is regarded as the third-oldest mosque in Albania and is protected as a Cultural Monument of Albania.

According to our records the mosque was built in 1503 and named after Sultan Mehmed II. During the communist period it was closed by the authorities and its minaret was demolished. The building was declared a cultural monument in 1973. After the communist dictatorship ended, the minaret was rebuilt in a simple style.

The Fatih Mosque (Albanian: Xhamia e Fatihut), also known alternately as Xhamia e vogël (transl. The Small Mosque) and Xhamia e vjetër (transl. The Old Mosque), is a mosque, located in Durrës, Albania. Completed in 1502, the year after the Turkish conquest of the city, the mosque was designated as a Cultural Monument of Albania in 1973.
