It lies about 1.2 kilometres from Hazarduari Palace and is counted among the larger mosques of Kumarpur. According to the Arabic Wikipedia article, the building measures roughly 135 by 38 feet and has five domes, with spiral staircases at its four corners, each crowned by a dome. The domes were never completed. Within the mosque grounds stands the Tomb of Nawab Sarfaraz Khan at Naginabagh, a State Protected Monument.

The mosque was built in 1740 by Nawab Sarfaraz Khan of Bengal. According to tradition, it was raised in a single night, although it is also said that Sarfaraz Khan employed builders for several months. The domes remain unfinished. The structure is now in a ruinous state and is no longer in use as a mosque.
