The Mosque of Qaytbay is a historic religious complex in the Qal'at al-Kabsh neighbourhood of Cairo. It is one of several monuments commissioned by the Mamluk sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay. Scholars describe it as both a madrasa and a mosque, since its design reflects educational as well as devotional purposes. It is regarded as an example of fifteenth-century Islamic architecture in Egypt and of the development of Mamluk decorative and architectural arts. The building is in use today as a mosque where prayers are held.
