The 1,640-square-metre plot on which the mosque stands was donated by the Nakhil Association. The building was designed by the architect Driss Alami and built with a budget of about 11 million Moroccan dirhams. King Mohammed VI inaugurated the mosque during Ramadan, on 18 May 2018.
