Al-Busiri Mosque stands in the Anfoushi neighbourhood of Alexandria, on Egypt's north coast. It is named after Sharaf al-Din al-Busiri, a Sanhaji Sufi imam and poet who lived in Alexandria in the 13th century, and it contains his tomb. The mosque lies next to the Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque and the Sidi Yaqut al-Arsh Mosque, and all three face the same central courtyard (sahn). Together they form a heritage complex of religious and cultural importance in the city.
