The Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque takes its name from the Purana Qila, or Old Fort, within which it stands in the central part of Delhi, India. It is also known as the Mosque of Sher Shah and belongs to the Hanafi Sunni tradition. Sher Shah had it built for his private use, and it came to be regarded as a symbol of his royal aspirations. Reflecting Islamic architecture, the mosque is counted among India's Monuments of National Importance and is administered by the Archaeological Survey of India.
