Angke Mosque, officially Masjid Jami Angke or Masjid Al-Anwar, stands in the Tambora district of Jakarta, Indonesia. Our records give its construction date as 1761, and it is regarded as one of the oldest mosques in the city. The building is well maintained and keeps its original form. The historian Denys Lombard described it as one of the most elegant structures of the old town. Its history reflects the multiethnic and multilayered origins of colonial Jakarta. The mosque is located on Gang Masjid I, off Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke.
